Another wonderful additional to my bridge series. A painting to steal your heart. That captures the feeling of being in Venice with her water canal streets, the stairs leading down to the canals and the age old architecture that makes up these building buildings that stand on the water. The beautiful details of the window with all of the planted pots just adds a little charm. Enjoy!

A painting that is sure to steal your heart. I started this painting while living in Santa Barbara, California where the idea of a series of bridges came to life. However, I did not finish it until 4 years later, while living in Europe. I started with a palette knife in order to create that thick texture for the age old architecture that makes up these buildings that stand on the water. There are so many colors in this painting and layers in order to capture the feeling of being in Venice with her water canal streets. From the stairs leading down to the canals, to the rolling metal door next to the bridge. To the small details such as, the docking ring, the moss that grows along the walls, and the highlights and shadows on the railing of the bridge. The beautiful details of the window with all of the planted pots just adds a little charm. Another wonderful addition to my bridge series. Enjoy!
